No — Maine prohibits credit and debit card surcharges for most sellers.

Rule: 9-A M.R.S. §8-509 prohibits sellers from imposing surcharges on credit or debit card payments. Government entities may surcharge at cost with disclosure.

Debit: Debit card surcharges are prohibited by statute.

What this means for a $100 sale: On a $100 credit-card sale, a surcharge is not allowed here (customer pays $100.00).
