Card processing fee audit
Monthly, PCI, batch, and chargeback lines can push your all-in rate well above the headline rate. Enter this month's card sales and fees from your statement — nothing is uploaded to our servers — and see your effective rate for that month (annual figures multiply by 12), optional line-item flags, and how the same volume would look on the flat-rate pricing CardFeeCalc documents for Stripe, Square, and PayPal.
Estimating from volume alone? Try the monthly processing cost calculator. Comparing one charge? Use Stripe vs Square vs PayPal.
How the fee is calculated
Effective rate (this month) = total fees ÷ card sales volume. Average per transaction = total fees ÷ transaction count. Annual savings = monthly difference × 12. Flat-rate comparisons use the same monthly math as each processor's calculator (percent + fixed fee on your implied average ticket).
Rates checked October 8, 2026. Source: Stripe US pricing; Square US pricing; PayPal US business fees.
Worked example
Statement totals: $10,000.00 in card sales, 200 transactions, $850.00 in total fees.
Effective rate: 8.50% ($4.25 per transaction).
At Stripe's published US online rate (2.9% + $0.30 per successful card charge), projected processing fees would be about $350.00 for the same volume — about $6,000.00 less per year than the statement total at Stripe's rate alone.
Across Stripe, Square, and PayPal flat-rate projections, estimated annual savings in this scenario span $4,824.00–$6,000.00 (before switching costs).

FAQ
- Are my numbers sent to a server?
- No. The math runs in your browser and nothing typed is uploaded or stored.
- What numbers do I need from my processing statement?
- Enter total card sales volume for the month, the number of card transactions, and total processing fees charged. Optionally add individual fee lines (monthly fee, PCI, batch, chargebacks, interchange) so the tool can flag common patterns.
- Why is my all-in rate higher than the headline processing rate?
- Monthly, PCI, batch, and chargeback lines can push your all-in rate well above the headline rate on a pricing page. This audit uses your statement totals so you see the full percent and per-transaction cost for the month you enter.
- How does the flat-rate comparison work?
- We project what the same volume and transaction count would cost using the published US online rates on CardFeeCalc’s Stripe, Square, and PayPal calculators (checked October 8, 2026), with the same per-transaction rounding as those tools. It is an estimate — your card mix and product add-ons may differ.
- Can I upload my statement?
- You can import a simple two-column CSV (description and amount) in your browser. PDF parsing is not supported yet. Nothing you upload is sent to CardFeeCalc servers.
- Do I need an email to see results?
- No. Results appear instantly on the page. The optional rate-alerts sign-up below is separate and does not unlock the audit.
